Is your home really healthy?

Did you know that according to Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Americans spend approximately 90% of time indoors. In the Midwest people may spend even more time inside due to drastic weather change. Also without realizing it we often bring toxins inside our homes. the following 5 tips are items to be on the lookout for and ghet rid of for a healthier home.

1. Volatile Organic Cmpounds (VOCs) are natural and man-made carbon-based chemicals that evaporate quickly at room temperature. Most of these chemicals are odorless which makes it tougher to notice them. These compounds are often found in furniture, carpeting, drapes, adhesives, cleaning products and air fresheners.
2. Asphalt sealants and pesticides used in lasscaping contain carcinogens and are often carried into the home by your shoes.
3. Water....its recommended to filter your water to remove lead, chlorine and pesticides. Don't forget to change the filter per instructions.
4. Dust mites are always a problem.Keep areas clutter free. Vinegar and water is a common cleaner for dust mites.Vaccuum or sweep floors 2 times per week.
5. Did you know the bathroom is often the unhealthiest room of your home. Keep toilet closed to prevent spreading of bacteria. Place toothbrushes in a covered holder. Also, clean toilets with vinegar.

The following list are healthy cleaning items:
Vineagar, lemon juice, salt cram of tartar, baking soda and borax

Other common resources are www.epa.gov and National  Radon Hotline at 1-800-767-7236.

Strive for the best...not just good!

I often think to myself why...this or that? Because settling isn't good enough. I want to strive to be the best I can. To feel the best is often a product of doing the best. When you want to throw in the "towel" remember your why. That will motivate beyond your control. I read the following by Joel Olsteen it says it all!

Today, I just encourage you; don't ever settle for "good enough." Don't ever settle for "just getting by." Keep pressing forward. Keep pressing into God. Let His Word renew your thinking and transform you into His image. Be the best version of you that you can possibly be! Don't be afraid to grow; don't be afraid to get out of your comfort zone. Don't be afraid to change because a little change will do you good!

"And be constantly renewed in the spirit of your mind [having a fresh mental and spiritual attitude]" (Ephesians 4:23, AMP)

What is a Deductible?

Do you know what your deductible is? It's amazing how many people do not know what a deductible is or if they have. Daily, I here oh I don't have that or I've met mine. The majority of the time the member has a deductible which hasn't been met and doesn't even realize it. It is standard procedure for post healthcare institutions to check one's deductible before providing service or giving goods. As defined by ask.com. Health insurance deductibles require the insured (the person who is covered under a health insurance policy) to pay a certain amount toward his health coverage before the insurance company has to begin paying under the health insurance policy. Every Medicare beneficiary has a $140.00/year deductible. Most all private insurances also have individual deductibles. Make sure to call the number on the back of your insurance card for specific information if you do not know it. insurance companies including Medicare mandates that suppliers and other health related individuals bill and collect deductibles and co-pays form the member. Oxygen Plus particpates in Relay for Life Saline

Hello all!

I wanted to take a minute and send an email and let all of you know about an important event here in Saline.

On June 23th and 24th   Saline is holding their 2nd Relay for Life at Liberty Track in Saline. We at Oxygen Plus are so happy to be involved in this great event.

Most of you know that Cancer has affected the Likert Family personally. About 8 years ago we lost my Mother-in-law, Margaret to Lung Cancer.

Last year my father-in-law, Win lost his long battle with Melanoma. So as you can imagine we WANT to FIGHT this disease. We hope to make a difference.

Your probably wondering how you can help. There are several ways. First, if your local come out and participate in the day. Second, feel free to join our team.

Third, donate any amount from $1 up to our team. Lastly, if your out of state find an event in your area and participate. We need everyone’s help!

You can’t imagine how great it feels to participate in such a worthy cause…..I’m sure most of you know someone else who has been affected.

Please consider helping fight this horrific disease. Many prayers and blessings to all of you!
